The mysterious, wondrous development of Abbey Castor

Abbey is a natural storyteller and lives to speak up for what she believes in, and she believes in a world united beyond borders. She dreams of empowering the world to seek enlightenment.

Originally born in a small suburb in Pennsylvania, something spiritual overcame her life which grew to be the source of her inspiration.

They say that music is a calling, and to receive the call is an honor.

Once upon a time, the phone rang, and this young lady happened to live on the Islands of Hawai’i nestled in the tops of a treehouse living an extraordinary life purely dependent upon freedom and connection to planet earth and prayer. Malama Aīna, they say on the islands, which means to care for the earth.

While living this blissful earth-centric lifestyle, the phone call came in the form of a seahorse lying on the ground in front of her during a meditation.

During this meditation, a spirit came to her commanding that she head to Mexico. Upon opening her eyes with no one to be found, she began to search on her phone for some sort of a clue. While looking on google for some information about this country, she noticed something lying on the ground. Lying on the ground was a pin shaped as a seahorse. She picked up the pin, and continued searching on google only to notice something strange about one of the largest cities called Puerto Vallarta.

Depicted underneath the city were several photos, one in particular revealing none other than a seahorse.

She interpreted this to be a sign from God, a message that she should go to this place.

Trusting that the universe would not misguide her, she sold all of her possessions and left her island paradise leaping from aloha to hola.

With only a guitar and backpack on her, she arrived in Mexico not speaking a lick of Spanish, entirely uncertain of what the future might hold.

She set off for the sea horse statue posted in the center of the old town in the city of Puerto Vallarta.

Arriving at the statue she met two indigenous natives dressed in Indian feathers and drumming their cultural music for the square.

Abbey locked eyes with one of them who invited her over to say hello. As they engaged, it became very clear that something special was occurring.

One of the indigenous peoples introduced himself saying mi nombre es angel. (My name is angel) and i believe the universe sent us something special today, and that special thing is you! Do tell us what do you need?

Abbey, shellshocked, was completely blown away and had not the slightest clue where to go. She just knew she had to get there, and now that she was there and things were escalating so quickly she said yes to wherever it was that the seahorse wanted to take her.

For 5 months Angel, his daughter Siam, and Abbey traveled around Mexico as they taught her to receive messages from Mother Earth, and work with energy like the Shamans do.

This lesson has carried her through much of her adventurous life and courageous journey.

If we are open, to this natural world, we often might see and experience intuitive insights that inspire us to take a different path to living a happier and more fulfilled magical life.

When the “phone rang” it might not have been a literal but more metaphysical phone ringing that acted as the transmission point from one life to the next. From aloha to hola.

After traveling with Angel and Siam, the story seemed to continue to unravel. Learning the ways of the fire, plant medicine, and music… Abbey had stumbled into an opportunity that was hard to refuse.

Abbey discovered an old monastery deep in the middle of the jungle where she decided to live for several years to further dive into meditative and shamanic practices to understand the world.

It was here at the monastery where she realized her life was about something so much greater, and that so much greater began cultivating itself through her connection to the spiritual realm.

Her connection to music is rooted in her spirituality and her experiences revealing that much more is possible by faith. To believe is to see with the eyes of the heart.

Abbey’s music, and message, are all about the heart. In the pursuit of finding understanding for the world, she so happened to discover it by throwing herself into music.

“Music is a portal, it takes you to rock and roll, the swinging 20s with roaring jazz, the punk dungeons of the 70s, the pop legends of today,” Castor remarks.

Abbey is creating her own musical identity. She is inspired by the timelessness of music and is inviting us into her world of discovery by fusing together Blues, Rock ‘n’ roll, Pop, Americana, Jazz, R&B, and Indie on her first record.

“I believe America has so much freedom. I’m grateful for freedom because it enables me to create what I want. I get to say what’s on my mind and that is a privilege,” Castor observes.

After traveling around the world and across the country she has written hundreds of tunes and has selected these songs to represent her breakout moment.

Here we have a gifted mystic and earthchild intertwining her insights, wisdom, and knowledge derived from the roots of life…. The roots of music.

A thought songstress for a generation, and lover of pachamama…  Miss Abbey Castor….
